kicad-web-view Source-Available License 1.0
Effective date: 4 November 2026
Identifier: LicenseRef-Kicad-Web-View-Source-Available-1.0
Copyright (c) 2026 Yawar B (wayri). All rights reserved except as granted below.

1. Scope and ownership
This license applies to the original kicad-web-view code, documentation, examples
and included owner-authored SPIKE subset supplied under this license (the
Software), to the extent Yawar B (wayri) holds the necessary rights. It does not
license the rest of SPIKE. Separately licensed third-party material and valid
earlier grants are governed by section 6. Copyright and other intellectual
property remain with their rights holders. This is a source-available license,
not an open-source license.

2. Non-commercial permission
You may obtain, install, run, inspect, modify and make backup copies of lawfully
supplied Software without a license fee solely for non-commercial purposes,
including non-commercial personal, educational, research and community use.
Commercial use requires the explicit prior written permission described in
section 3. The availability of source code does not grant commercial rights.

You may redistribute the Software and your modifications solely for
non-commercial purposes and without compensation if you include this complete
license, preserve copyright and third-party notices, clearly identify your
changes, and give recipients no fewer rights under this license. A recipient
receives these permissions directly from the licensor. You cannot grant broader
commercial rights on the licensor's behalf. This license does not require the
disclosure of private repositories, credentials, designs or source not supplied
with your copy.

3. Commercial use requires explicit prior written permission
Unless separately and explicitly authorized in writing by Yawar B (wayri), you
must not use, modify, embed, host, provide, distribute or sublicense the Software
for a commercial purpose.

Commercial use means use directed toward commercial advantage, monetary
compensation or the operation of a trade or business, whether or not users are
charged for access. It includes:
(a) internal use in a commercial business or organization;
(b) paid engineering, consultancy, client work or other paid professional
    services using the Software;
(c) embedding or integrating the Software into a commercial product, website,
    company portal, application, subscription, appliance or paid bundle;
(d) paid hosted, managed, API or software-as-a-service access;
(e) monetizing access to the Software through advertising or sponsorship;
(f) selling, renting, leasing or otherwise supplying the Software, or a modified
    or derivative version, for money or other consideration; and
(g) authorizing another party to undertake any of those activities.

Providing access without charge does not by itself make a commercial use
non-commercial. Permission must be obtained before the commercial activity and
must identify its authorized scope. A download, publication, inquiry or payment
alone is not permission. Contact the licensing address above to request a
separate written agreement; no price, exclusivity or entitlement is promised.

4. Your designs and outputs
You retain your rights in your own designs, data, comments, reports and other
outputs. This license does not transfer ownership of those materials to the
licensor or require you to license them under this license. It does not grant
permission to use the Software commercially to create or deliver them; section
3 still applies to that use. You remain responsible for third-party rights in
your input files and outputs.

5. Notices and branding
Preserve legal notices and do not misrepresent authorship, your changes, or
endorsement. No trademark license or right to use the project's branding as
your own is granted. Accurate descriptive references and required attribution
are permitted. Do not describe this license as MIT, OSI-approved or open source.

6. Third-party rights, earlier grants and mandatory law
Third-party components retain their own licenses, including any rights to use,
modify, reverse engineer, redistribute or sell those components. This license
does not narrow those rights or revoke valid earlier grants. Component-specific
terms control those components where they differ. See THIRD-PARTY-NOTICES.md
and the notices supplied with individual components.

This license governs copies and material supplied under it. It does not
retroactively change rights already lawfully granted under another license.
The inherited Pocket KiView Source-Available License 1.0 is retained for
provenance at licenses/Pocket-KiView-Source-Available-1.0.txt; its presence does
not offer that earlier license for newly licensed material. Nothing here
restricts rights that applicable law does not permit to be restricted.

7. No warranty; engineering verification
To the extent permitted by law, the Software is supplied AS IS, without express
or implied warranties, including merchantability, fitness for a particular
purpose and non-infringement. Independently check engineering results, exports
and resolved designs. The Software does not certify electrical correctness,
safety or manufacturing readiness. Keep backups.

8. Liability and termination
To the extent permitted by law, the licensor and contributors are not liable
for indirect, incidental, special or consequential damages, lost profits, lost
data or business interruption arising from the Software. This does not exclude
liability or rights that cannot lawfully be excluded.

Your permissions terminate for a material breach not cured within 30 days after
written notice from the licensor. On termination, stop the unpermitted use and
distribution and delete affected copies, except copies required by law and any
third-party material you may retain under its own license. Compliant recipients'
independent rights are not terminated by your breach. Existing compliant grants
are not withdrawn merely by publishing different terms for future versions.

9. Other terms and contributions
Privacy, account use and user-content rules are addressed separately. They do
not grant commercial permission. Contributions do not automatically transfer
copyright or authorize relicensing; a separate contributor agreement is needed
for that purpose. Any broader grant must be in a separate written agreement
with the relevant rights holder. No obligation to provide future updates or
support is promised by this license.
